Patrick's 2nd birthday is tomorrow. He understand what birthdays are this year, and when I asked him what he wanted to do this weekend he said "Have a birthday." He got a bike this year from Daddy and Mommy, and a helmet, which he informed us he would have to have before he could ride. Chase got Patrick a Thomas the train outfit, and Daddy got him a calculator. We're going to have his party tomorrow at Chuck E. Cheese.
Uncle Noah and Aunt Lorisa are here for the party, and Patrick has 6 little friends coming too, along with Grandma and Grandpa T and some of Daddy and Mommy's friends. He's going to have a cake, and all the kids get goody bags and tokens.
When everyone asked what Patrick is "into" this year, I told them he really likes trains and airplanes, and basically "things that go." He is also starting to like Spiderman. He has a Spiderman shirt and some Spiderman shoes he's going to wear to the party (today he called them "Spider-shoes-man") and his new bike helmet has Spiderman on it. He also really likes reading and books.
Patrick has lots of favorite books, but some of his favorites right now are: Stand Back, Said the Elephant, I'm Going to Sneeze; Oh, the Places You'll Go; No Matter What; and Thomas and Friends Railway Rhymes. His favorite song is Poker Face by Lady Gaga. When I was home on maternity leave he would ask for it every day and likes to dance and sing to it (he calls it "muh-muh-muh-ma song") He likes to dance and he is starting to like to sing too. He takes Daddy's guitar and sings songs about whatever you tell him to sing a song about (Chase, Daddy, the kitty, milk, trains, etc.) Some of his favorite foods are bananas, nuts, applesauce, oatmeal, yogurt, and chicken. He likes the kitty, and he can make Chase smile and laugh by jumping up and down for him, falling on the ground, and giving him kisses. He likes to give Chase a kiss on the lips and then say "Ew, drool!!" and then wipe the drool on Mommy and Daddy. He likes our roommate Justin and likes to help Justin do his laundry and tries to get him to share his cereal in the mornings.
Patrick is definitely a big boy, and I think he's going to have a very fun birthday tomorrow. Happy Birthday Patrick!!
PS)We'll post lots of pictures after the party :)
